As members of the Republican Women of California Point Loma, it’s essential to have clear, concise, and compelling talking points about our candidate, Donald Trump. This post is the first in a series aimed at equipping you with the facts to counter the misinformation circulating in the mainstream media. Our goal is to provide you with key points on various policy issues to help you engage in meaningful conversations with friends, family, and neighbors. We will focus on why supporting Trump is beneficial for everyday Americans, emphasizing his common-sense solutions and commitment to making America great again. Let's ensure our discussions are positive and focused on our candidate's strengths, fostering constructive and respectful dialogue.
This series is particularly helpful for reaching out to those who are left of center or undecided voters. When a friend, family member, or co-worker starts to complain about issues like high gas prices, "Bidenomics," homelessness, or crime, remember to use the phrase "It doesn't have to be this way," as we learned from our guest speaker and author Cole Marting. Cole emphasized that this phrase helps people understand they have the power to contribute to change by who they vote for. If you missed his presentation at our meeting earlier this year, you can watch it online at the following link: Cole Marting's Presentation.
Women's Rights
Claim: "Trump is going to take away women's rights."
Response:
I am voting for the right for women to use their own bathrooms and feel protected from individuals crossing our borders who devalue women.
Women should have the right to vote, make decisions about their own bodies, including vaccinations and abortions, and participate in sports without unfair competition from men.
Trump supports women's rights to speak out and share their thoughts with the world.
Agenda 47 states he will end Left-wing Gender Insanity "We will keep men out of women’s sports, ban Taxpayer funding for sex change surgeries, and stop Taxpayer-funded Schools from promoting gender transition, reverse Biden’s radical rewrite of Title IX Education Regulations, and restore protections for women and girls."
Abortion
Claim: "He's going to end abortion."
Response:
Trump’s platform, accepted by the RNC, supports states' rights to regulate abortion rather than a federal mandate.
During Trump’s first term, despite Republican control of the House and Senate, abortion rights were not federally restricted.
The recent Supreme Court ruling returning the power to regulate abortion to the states aligns with the belief that life and liberty are guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
Agenda 47 specifically states "We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments)."
Economic Impact
Claim: "Biden and Harris have been amazing for our economy."
Response:
Since Biden and Harris took office, credit card debt has increased by 42.4%, homeownership affordability has decreased by 32.3%, and monthly savings have dropped by 79%.
Real disposable income per capita has decreased by 7.7%, and the cost of gasoline and vehicle insurance has significantly increased.
Under Trump’s administration, the economy saw substantial job growth, increased middle-class family income, and record-low unemployment rates for various demographics.
Project 2025
Claim: "Trump’s plan to take your power, your control, and your money."
Response:
Project 2025 is a conservative initiative aimed at addressing key issues like border security, inflation, and crime.
It is a collective effort by over 100 respected conservative organizations to provide solutions and support the next conservative president.
The project is transparent and non-partisan, focusing on dismantling the unaccountable Deep State and returning power to the American people.
Project 2025 does not speak for any candidate or campaign, in any capacity.
Tariffs and Inflation
Claim: "Trump's tariffs caused inflation."
Response:
The timing of the tariffs shows no direct correlation with inflation, which only began accelerating in March 2021, well after most tariffs were in place.
Eliminating tariffs would have a minimal impact on reducing consumer prices, accounting for only a 0.3-percentage-point reduction.
Tariffs have helped key industries like aluminum and steel to rebuild, generating jobs and investments in the U.S.
COVID-19 and Disinfectants
Claim: "Trump told Americans to 'inject bleach' into their arms to treat COVID-19."
Response:
Trump did not suggest injecting bleach. He speculated about potential future treatments involving disinfectants during a press conference.
His comments were taken out of context and misrepresented in the media.
Economic Achievements
Claim: "Trump didn't do anything for our economy."
Response:
During Trump's administration, America gained 7 million new jobs, and middle-class family income increased significantly.
Unemployment rates reached record lows, and job creation exceeded expectations.
Trump’s policies led to significant economic growth, with major achievements in job creation, wage increases, and poverty reduction.
Family and Children
Claim: "Trump doesn't care about the American people and will put himself first."
Response:
Trump doubled the Child Tax Credit, benefitting nearly 40 million families.
He secured substantial increases in Child Care and Development Block Grants and provided emergency aid for families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump’s administration promoted women’s economic empowerment and preserved American jobs, enhancing opportunities for American workers and their families.
Crime and Safety
Claim: "Kamala Harris is trying to run for President right now as 'California’s Prosecutor' – but the ugly truth is she’s one of the biggest reasons why California is experiencing a dangerous crime wave!"
Response:
Kamala Harris supported Prop 47, which has led to a significant increase in crime in California. Her misleading ballot title suggested it was a “tough-on-crime” initiative, but it actually eliminated the ability of police to arrest and punish criminals for many offenses.
California has seen a surge in both property crimes and violent crimes, including assault, rape, and murder, as a result of these policies.
Trump's Crime Policies:
Supporting Law Enforcement: Trump provided unprecedented support for law enforcement, with violent crime falling for three consecutive years during his administration.
Operation Legend: Launched to combat violent crime in cities, resulting in more than 5,500 arrests.
Judicial Appointments: Over 230 federal judges confirmed, committed to respecting the rule of law, and three conservative justices appointed to the Supreme Court.
First Step Act: Historic bipartisan criminal justice reform to reduce recidivism and help former inmates successfully rejoin society.
Proposition 36:
Voters have a chance to stop California's crime wave by voting YES on Prop 36. This initiative aims to:
Repeal and reform Prop 47, restoring law enforcement's power to arrest and punish criminals.
Allow felony charges for thefts under $950, curbing increasing "smash and grab" robberies.
Authorize felony charges for possessing certain drugs like fentanyl and increase sentences for various drug and theft crimes.
Prop 36 offers a solution to the failed policies of Kamala Harris and gives voters in the middle a clear reason to support stronger, more effective crime policies.
Conclusion
As we engage with others about the upcoming election, let’s focus on these key points to showcase why Donald Trump is the right choice for America. By highlighting his commitment to common-sense solutions and the welfare of everyday Americans, we can effectively communicate the importance of supporting Trump in the upcoming election. I encourage everyone to call and talk with friends, family, and neighbors about who they are going to vote for and why. If you hear something during these conversations that hasn’t been addressed here, let us know! We want to be your resource for all things about Trump that are true and accurate.
